AHHS Repertory Dance Concert Nov. 2nd and 3rd

The AHHS Repertory Dance Concert is happening November 2nd and 3rd and is the first show of our season! The dancers of the RDC have been rehearsing since the first week of August for this performance. The dancers will be performing works by TCU Professor Sarah Newton, Houston School for the Performing and Visual Arts dance faculty Courtney Jones, and Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts faculty member Krista Jennings Langford.
The AHHS Repertory Dance Company is the first pre - professional dance company in Fort Worth ISD. We are excited to be taking the company to the Regional High School Dance Festival this March! Get your tickets here and join our dancers for this night of amazing dance!
ALL AHHS Dance Department students are required to attend at no cost! Can't get a ride? NO WORRIES! A bus will be available for transportation to the theater on Friday, Nov. 2. Students will however have to find a ride home!

New Dance Courses for 19-20 School Year!!!

We are THRILLED to announce that next year AHHS will be able to offer some new dance courses for the 2019-2020 school year. The district approved 9 new dance courses, the proposals of which were written by our very own Mrs. Millan and Mrs. Wade. Next year AHHS Dance hopes to offer:

• Dance History
• Performance & Ensemble
• Tap
• Dance Wellness

It is never to early to begin thinking about next school year! Fill up those free periods with dance related coursework instead of being a student aide or off campus! It looks great on your resume that you took a full course load during your last years in high school!

AHHS Faculty to National Dance Educators Conference

Mrs. Wade and Mrs. Millan are being sent by the district to the National Dance Educators Conference in San Diego this October! While at the conference they will be taking courses on advocacy, dance for students with disabilities, progressive pedagogy, and new ways to approach dance in the public school classroom. Mrs. Wade will also be presenting at the conference with Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts dance faculty Sheyna Ferraro. AYY HEIGHTS!
