National High School Dance Festival was a
​Huge Success 

The AHHS Repertory Dance Company had a VERY successful experience at the National High School Dance Festival! We performed two of our pieces for dancers, recruiters and master teachers from across the World and participated in the recruitment audition. Here is what these incredibly talented dancers walked away with.

Greyland Goff- FULL Scholarship to attend Point Park University Summer Dance Scholarship to University of the Arts Pre - College Summer Program Interest from LIU Brooklyn, Montclair State University, James Madison  University, SUNY College at Brockport, Seton Hill University, Winthrop University, Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, and Virginia Commonwealth University

Lily Guymon - ACCEPTANCE into Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts, Drexel           University, Lindenwood University, Cornish College of the Arts, Seton Hill and University of the Arts.

Cameran Myler - ACCEPTANCE into Winthrop University and Seton Hill

Lily Hendricks, Jada Webb, Jesus Alfaro -ACCEPTANCE (as juniors!) into Winthrop     University. Jesus also received a talent based scholarship and will be the FIRST person in his family to attend college! He has been dancing for a year and half.

Emily Wentworth - Scholarships to Bates Summer Dance Festival and University of the     Arts Pre College Summer Dance Program. Interest from Montclair State University and  LIU Brooklyn

Elle Quiroga - ACCEPTANCE  ( as a junior ) into Winthrop University Dance Program, Seton Hill, James Madison University, American Musical and Dramatic Academy and Winchester University.

All 18 of the dancers that went took at least 3 classes a day and were able to see several performances. Everyone there was so impressed by the diversity of our dancers, their talent, character  and integrity. The ones that did not audition were still able to be seen by recruiters when they performed and will be pursuing options for summer study!

Dance is changing these kid's lives and it is incredible to see! Thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported them this year  it has made all the difference to them.

Playbill Advertisements

Information regarding the selling of playbill advertisements, for the 2016 Spring Dance Project, were sent home with your student on Monday (2/22/16). Students were encouraged to make it their goal to sell a full page of ads. All payments and ad information are due MARCH 11th. All proceeds will go towards the expense of creating and printing a quality program. Thank you in advance for helping your students achieve this goal. We are looking forward to a wonderful show! 

National Honor Society of Dance Arts

Information regarding how to be a member of National Honor Society of Dance Arts was sent home with your student. If your student is a Junior or Senior and they are interested in becoming a member please email Denise Wedding , our chapter sponsor, at kawdlw@yahoo.com for more information.

Students must be passing their classes by Wednesday the 23rd in order to participate in the 2016 Spring Dance Project. Please help the AHHS Dance Dept. support good grades. 

AHHS Repertory Dance Company is Performing at the 2016 Collage Denton Dance Festival
